Fitting kiteboard gear inside Mitsubishi Evolution?

Was looking at buying a 2006 evo. Wondering if anyone here has one they use for kite boarding and was able to get all the gear in it. Seemed rather small inside and seats do not go back. Really LOVED the feeling though riding in it and AWD for winter definitely would be a lot of fun. Have wanted a evo since I was way younger and finally am financially able to get a sport car but AWD is a must, not many have AWD.

I keep my gear in the car all the time. In my current car even though it has 5 seats I just use it as a 2 seater and keep all the kite gear in the back all the time. I see on the evo from you tube even if you remove the back seats tottaly out of the car there is a metal cross which looks too block the trunk from the cabin.

Anyone managed to do it?

Storing kit in an evo?? You might aswell go find some pikeys and hand your kit over now. Get a proper car n leave that shit to the rudeboys!

Subaru STI hatch would be a perfect choice. Bigger and better AWD than the Evo. I drive an XV, which is essentially an Impreza hatch on steroids, and there is plenty of room. You can't beat the Subaru AWD, it is absolutely fantastic. When I lived up north I loved when it would snow because the car became so fun.

You don't care about your kites if you leave them in your car all the time...

You might want to look into the older Forrester XT as well (comes with the STI motor at a fraction of the price).

You can definitely beat the Suby AWD--a few hot launches with good traction will destroy it.

EVO owners get a bad rep but a properly maintained one that hasn't been butchered is a fine car--same for an STI.

I have an STI hatch. Works well for kiting; I have a kite golf bag that fits very well in either side with one of the back seats down.
Bag holds twin tip (142), 3 kites, pump, bars and harness plus one kite bag.

When I looked at the EVO Lancer I found the trunk very small with the battery back there.
Both have been reviewed many time as having very good all wheel drive and yes they are very fun in the snow and fun when you drive out on a frozen lake to snow kite!

Own a Evo X. Either you buy a splitboard or get a roof rack. Best handling car hands down.

I have seen a little smart car being used,
I have a merc slk sports and have used that twice, but that was a pain, even got changed in the passenger seat, which reminded me of hanky panky way back in the 70s in a mini.

Size your board to fit sideways into the boot. Then work out the best way to stash the rest of your gear. It will be possible to fit it into the boot.

BUT.

Sooner or later as your kiting addiction grows it will surpass your need for a fast car and you will buy a big vehicle that all your gear easily fits into. Its just a matter of time!
