First 32 games, 302 sprawls on the ground, writhing in pain...world cup campaign hangs in the balance...

293 get up after the magic sponge with incredible magical properties in the water it's soaked in, not an issue.

For someone grown up on aussie rules and rugby it's a bloody hard game to watch.

Go Germany and the Netherlands!!!!!!

I love both sports kitesurfing has the edge though they really should sort out this diving and lying on the floor pretending to roll about in pain, you do not see it in rugby they just shake it off and get back up and their not paid a fraction of the wages that footy players are but I suppose it will take FIFA years to sort it like it did goal line technology. Too much money in the game I played Sunday footi for 25 years and we never acted like this must be the money. :thumb:

Heard some historian specialising in football the other day in the radio. He said if you watch early 20th century footage/ read football was a real thugs game. And it was frowned upon to stay down like they do now. FIFA decided to clean up the game and with money coming into the game in the late 60s 70s they started to crack down on aggressive tackles etc. hence players adjusted to the point they now make the refs think 'twice' so to speak about each incident. Plenty of games been won and lost on players going down and making it look worse than it actually is. But I agree I love the spectacle, even the game but the antics just make it bloody hard.

That being said have set the alarms got a 3am wake time

Go Germany!!

Soccer?

I'd rather watch rugby.

Rugby?

I'd rather watch cricket.

Cricket?

I'd rather gouge my eyes out with plastic spoons.

Take away the spectacle, and you're left with grown men rolling around on the ground pretending to cry.

Soccer = slow Hockey minus the fist fights (Soccer is hard to watch when you were brought up playing American Football).
Australian Rules = Awesome to watch.
Rugby = Also pretty good but the Australians got it really right.
American Rules Football = Awesome (but I've seen so much that I gave up caring fifteen years ago).
Cricket = A bug. :lol:
At this point, I get bored watching most team sports (Football, Soccer, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball).
I can still watch the Tour de France and enjoy it, I can watch some mixed martial arts fights, surfing contests, some motor racing sports, motorcycle stunts.
These days, my viewing of sports on video seems to more geared toward "people are amazing" videos on YouTube, where you get to see the crazy things that are going on out there with people who are finding cool stuff to do that is a bit more on the fringe.
