Beyond the obvious (no sand/debris in the swivel, etc), if your kite is fully powered up (where the rope is actually out of the cleat with the white strap jammed against the QR housing) then you might be experiencing the following: the yellow bungee line is fully stretched and loaded that makes it create friction in/against the body of the swivel where it passes through. Try and loop the kite with some depower pulled in and I bet your swivel will work. This is pretty much the same issue with all bars that have a bungee line to take up the slack as you depower - it is puzzling why manufacturers don't add an extra 1/4"-1/2" to the bungee to make this issue go away.

I know some people use a dry silicon..I've never done that so I don;t know if it works.....I generally just pull on the lines and that sorts it out...so maybe that is the issue...the yellow line creating friction..I never thought about that.

Check that both front lines are equal length, if one is longer than the other it is creating uneven pressure on the swivel..
