Learn how to go big with Dimitri Maramenides

Postby KiteCulture » Thu Jul 17, 2014 4:03 am

Get your oxygen masks ready! People have been asking, based on recent images posted, about boosting huge air. Watch and learn from one of the masters of height.

Dimitri breaks this down for us from selecting the right gear, wind speed and 4 steps, that when timed well will have you jumping like never before. Enjoy!

Kam - You wouldn't be learning how to jump if you didn't know what sheeting in does...

Mentally comparing this tutorial to others I've watched, it seems to be the only one that doesn't mention sheeting in or out as a vital step... yet it's one of the few to discuss timing.

The only reason I don't mention "Sheeting in" the bar in the video is because it is all common sense. If you want to jump big, you want power, that means you want to keep your bar 10 to 20 cm away from you in order to get as much power as possible. It will all come naturally to you once you learn these 4 steps. But again it all depends of the kite you are using.
Some of the big jumps you see I had to "Sheet Out" by pushing the bar away from me so I can depower the kite so I don't land on the beach.

One of the pictures bellow was a close on.
