Opinion on beginner package

Hi,

I got the Best Kahoona+ 9.5 2013 with the Red Link Bar

What do you think about the RRD Placebo board (2014) ? I found it for 350 euros new.

Also is it worth getting the Warrior Len10 harness or get a cheaper one.

Also what board size should i pick? 140cm?

I am 67kg, 1.78cm

I like my Warrior Len10. It's holding up well, even though it has 4 solid seasons of use. If I was buying another harness, though, I would get one from Ride Engine. If I was going to get a non-custom harness, I would look at the Manera harness - looks interesting.

W.r.t. board size, width is more important than length.

General new kiter advice: be careful trying to save money. Kiting is not a cheap sport. Buying old kites is a bad way to do it (glad you haven't). Buying an older twin tip can be OK if the board has not been beaten up.

140x38-40 would fit well

Engine harnesses look the biz, but all that comes into its own with sliding systems and stuff thats not beginner in nature. Get a well built comfy off the shelf harness. That part is actually on you so don't cheap out there. Im with the above comments that saving money on the first board is viable. That kites a great start too.

The Engine harness can have a hook if you wish. I wouldn't call it an advanced harness - it works in the same way as anything else. But it is more expensive.

I'd get a 135x40 or 41 for a board at 67kg. kite is fine, any newish kite that isn't a c-kite will be fine for learning
