Riding blind help

Postby billymayerkite » Thu Aug 14, 2014 4:03 am

When i switch to blind i fully rotate the 180 an put the weight in my back foot but just dont seem to keep going. I release immediately almost.
I think it could be i am not using fins and need some traction?

Cheers

Try starting your pop travelling much more downwind, so after rotating 180, you land more downwind and keep going.

If you pop from an upwind direction you never get round enough and slip back to your heals straight away or dig your toe edge in too hard and stop.

As well as above keep your head over the back of the board as well. Body follows the head...actually look down and fix your eyes on the back of the board.

to be honest if you're not using fins - should be pretty easy to slide round to blind

which way do you prefer to ride toeside?

most people ride blind best - the opposite of what they like toeside

you could say blind is sorta toeside backwards

Riding blind is a great move to add to your repertoire of tricks because then you can go BLIND and do tons of other tricks using your blind move. But first you need to make sure you CL is secured on your harness. Also you need to move your front hand to the back of the bar once you initiate the 180 turn. Than once you land blind you will be putting pressure on your toe side but you will need to lean forward and back towards your toes and the back of the board. Plus few other things. But will do a video on HOW TO GO BLIND to help you out.
Just give me few weeks because I am very busy with lots of work I have right now since I am working on few other different videos and also on different Kite and Board prototypes.
