What is the best insurance for a kitesurfing rider, not an instructor, for personal injury liability protection? Quick search found IKA and BKSA offering coverage. Would also like to cover land and snow kiting. Worldwide or just in the U.S.

I remember a few discussions on this topic, on KF ; in the USA it's a basic
policy for home-owners ins. , that covers me.

On My Hang glider, i get
Way more coverage than necessary, through the USHPA. I hope that
some-day, the kite boarding community will band together and get us
some affordable insurance to cover liability and medical expenses
for a mishap, if one ever happens ?

I'm covered for medical, if i screw-up ; are YOU ?
There's some BAD examples in Threads on this forum, for Why this could be important !!

Your standard homeowners or renters liability coverage should protect you for liability claims while doing just about anything, barring driving a vehicle or operating a boat over a certain length, there you would need either auto or boaters insurance liability.
other exclusions would be obviously for any intentional acts...
the other twist would be if you were out of your home country.

This is what i do for a living and i'm speaking primarily for the USA...

Thanks and I'll probably skip it since there's home and auto insurance and an umbrella liability policy over those.

The radio controller airplane club I was in requires it and their national association provides at very low cost.

I recall that one really bad accident involving a kite and a windsurfer. Things happen, some people are looking to sue right or wrong, and the biggest benefit of the policies is usually coverage of legal defense costs.
