Should kiting be for everyone? Of course not, what is?
Should schools regulate it? No, it would be a huge waste of time. Have you seen the way most people drive. And that is after regulations and lessons.
As they say, you can not fix stupid....
And stupid and determined is self limiting so stay out of their way and help enough to preserve your launches.

I was asked to leave the 3-day Hang gliding lesson plan , that i signed up for
back in 1977 ; asked to leave because i would make an unsuitable pilot.

5 years later , i was #-4 in the world at ACCRO on a HG ...

3 months ago , i flew a borrowed Gin Carrera PG , well enough to pick up
a sponsor on That devise as well ; not too bad for a legless white-haired
old fart like me !

Didn't you lose your legs in a hangliding accident??? Irony?

No need to be snippy....

Simply pointing out that it probably wasn't the best example.

I'll do my best to properly quote your bad examples next time. I don't base jump, that's illegal.

So Basically , you were Lying , when Ya posted the quote below ?

You would "Definitely"
have a shot of yourself ,while base-jumping ; ((IF)) you actually had done it.
And NO ; there are Plenty of places to "Legally" base-jump , (In the USA).

I pushed the odds on a HG for nearly 37 years now ; was inevitable that
i'd get nailed at Some point . Didn't think I'd screw-up myself , quite That bad though !!

Like i said, i plan to go back and jump again
this weekend ; this time off a hill that's 3/4 of a mile high , ( even without the legs) . :D

I didn't realize you were a paraglider..... thats so cool...and it definitely explains the pussyish attitude.
So you never paraglide without a buddy? You must like your friends much better than your sports......... sounds a little suspect to me????? I guess if you kite without your "buddies" then there is nobody there to help rub the sunscreen in. :naughty:

oh yeah.... 75% of my kiting is solo, as well as my base jumps

What --dyyylan-- Doesn't know ...

dyyylan originally got mad at me, when i replied to a guy in the
Mediterranean , (somewhere around Israel, i think ? ).

The guy mentioned that he Lost his kite out to sea.

I replied that IF he had pulled his QR and Didn't have
a leash to secure his kite to the harness ; i hoped he , (("Never"))
found his kite again !!

dyyylan & i exchanged words ...

Turns out he Did have a leash to the kite ; but it broke when he activated the QR !!
COOL then ; "sorry for your loss" . (sigh)

What dyyylan Didn't know ,
was that a few weeks before that Thread ; i gotten taken out by a dude , that had pulled
his QR , and did NOT have a leash securing his kite to himself.
Basically His life was worth a Lot more than Mine !! :angryfire:

His lines actually touched my head, on there way by ,to tangle in
my kite. My Edge nearly got ripped in 1/2 as the two kites crashed
in the water.

If that line had wrapped around my Head, instead of my Kite ; i would
probably be Dead right now. If i die doing an adrenaline sport ; i wanna
go out because ( I Fucked -Up) ; not because some timed prick released
his kite, and was too scared to deal with the consequences !!! :nono:

Tonight i plan to call some friends i have in Hood-river ; ask if they
know some small little140-Lb dude that just moved from Florida ?
I wanna know
if he's as good as he makes himself out to be, here on this forum ; or is he all
Mouth ?

So kiting alone IS safer ??? Contradicting your last post. You're just a pile of bullshit aren't you.

I'm sorry to pick on you buddy, but you just shoot your mouth off without thinking.
Yes i base jump. Unfortunately, it's illegal from my objects here in fl, so I don't incriminate myself with pictures. Otherwise i would give you one to hang on the wall. Solo kiting and base jumping is therapeutic for me. I don't need an audience like some other people..And making unrealistic threats isn't cool..
