Grassy Key (Marathon) is my favorite because of the miles of shallow water that I get all to myself.

Is this Ukraine spot inland or close to sea of Azov? I'm just wondering if the wind is nice thermal or you only kite during passing front events. I personnaly wouldn't trade good steady thermal with chop over glassy water with not so perfect wind conditions.

inland, where the yellow line ends - http://kitepunks.com.ua/map/
winds for this spot is not termal, quality of the winds blowing from north - northeast - east usualy very very good
its hard to say how much sessions we got there per season... but sping, autumn and winter is definitely time to ride there,
we also have a spot for south to west directions, that nicely works with its termals which increases west and southwest wind directions - where the blue line ends, spot called Trooba (Pipe)
and we also have an island in the sea with hundreeds of small lakes and amazing kiting there), something like this -

here is video from Karzhyny (end of the yellow line) -

and from Trooba (Pipe), blue line -

I learned how to kite surf here in San Carlos, Mexico this winter and I love it. Clear, flat water, with an option for some swell/waves too! Wind 3-4 days a week since October, between 15-25 knots. We had a busy day the other day, with 12 kites on the water. Cheers!

I love my home spots - quick and easy to get to from 1 min to 2 hours away...
but when i was on holiday last summer for 3 weeks in france with our old campervan and our 2 kids, i had all my gear with me and only kited 3 times! the best of my life! in Quiberon an island in france. the wind was perfect for my 9 qm, perfect waves, two others kiters on a perfect beach - paradise really. The next day on the other side of the island and with my 15 qm and big board was also a super day- this time with 3 others kiters and a hydrofoil....

once in a lifetime - i will never go back...but a great experience...

Hello KY

I will be staying down the road from your favorite spot at Grassy Key in early April. Can you tell me where that launch is located and any other info you may have. I will be hooking up with Otherside Kiteboarding for some riding, but would like the option of getting out on my own if possible.

Thanks

Hi all,

I have a kitesurf hotel in Madagascar, Sakalava Bay, next to Diego Suarez. The name is KiteParadise Madagascar. The wind is incredibly strong here and the conditions are the best I have ever seen in the world.
I chose to establish my resort there cause it is for my the most beautiful place on earth to practice kitesurf.

... spots look horrible. ... no decent waves.
That's because you're looking through Taranaki eyes - you are entirely spoiled.
