Liquid Force 2015 Envy vs HIFIx 2

Postby Giorgio » Tue Sep 09, 2014 11:48 am

Hi guys! I need a big help. Before the end of this week I need to decide between buying an envy 2015 or the HIFIx2. I started my raleys unhook and doing my first downloops what shall I choose? Is it the 2015 Envy still good at unhooking? Where I kite there are no waves so all I want to do is freestyle and big air :)
Anyone has tested the HIFIx2? Any thoughts on it?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sure the Envy will be great for unhooking, it is a Liquid Force kite!
C kite is always better for unhooking but needs some more wind for big air.
If you just do raley's then the Envy is great.
I'm not that good but if you want to progress to raley to blind's then the Hifi X is your friend.
It fly's more to the edge which makes edging a little easier when you are not a pro like me.
It has a little more bar pressure but maybe that changed a little bit?
I can't wait to try them both!
Good luck whit your choice and hopefully someone who rides both can comment.

Interested to see how this "ground up re-design" on the 2015 Envy will feel like?

I like the envy better than the hifix and it's not because I hate c kites I mainly ride fuels I just find the 2014 and 2015 a calmer more predictable kite the hifix is a bit more temperamental. I do not like 2013 or earlier envys they tend to stall coming back after a megaloop. just my opinion. envy 2014 2015 is pretty good unhooked.

Hi guys, thanks :-)

i saw this review and it doesn't say much about wakestyle or unhook riding. Last year all reviews of the Envy were about its special quality for unhook riding...while it seems that now we have a generally better kite (for waves and fast turning) but it doesn't say if the profile for unhooking was preserved..

That's my main worry.. and it would suck to buy a-year-old kite when the new model is out..

That's a reasonable worry. I haven't really tested the 2015 but I do own a 2014. It's possible the 2015 model is worse for unhooked riding. Ask me again in a year. It's a bit early to really understand what the 2015 is all about.

Buy an 2014 envy at half the price

Haven't tried it but most sle's pulls like monstertrucks unhooking in slightly overpowered conditions. C's are way easier controlling by the edge of your board. <- but this is generally speaking

But if you dont get any waves are really cant see why you wouldnt pick the hifi.... I know i would

Im a Liquid Force dealer and you want the envy. The new HiFi is designed for a small group of riders that are doing crazy un-hooked tricks. The envy is still a top class wake style kite that boosts. The Hifi is a performance kite that is really for the pros or guys who are close to it...my suggestion is once your throwing KGBs and F-16s then you will want the HiFi but for the time being hone in tour skills on the Envy.. We will have ours in stock early next week at www.AtlanticKiteboarding.com and are taking pre-orders now...

What are the differences between the 14 and 15 envy? I love the look of the 14 but am not sure that the 15 offers a crazy improvement for my budget. Tough to figure because the 14 marketing material said it was awesome and tests came back good. Real does a good job of explaining things.
