Hey guys, I need advice. The bridle line on my SS 2014 RPM wore out on the sheath although the line itself seems to be intact. I actually do have the replacement bridle and its easy to swap it out although I like the original metallic slider better than the replacement bridle (plastic pulley thingy). Is it possible to tape over the bridle sheath given the line underneath is intact? Or repair it somehow?
See the pic below.

That needs replacing.
Can you not just swap the pulleys over? That looks sacrificial so should be replaceable??

I replaced it just now with the replacement kit that SS sent out, so Im not losing kiting sessions. But I was hoping to fix the originals as I dislike the look of the cheap plastic sliders that SS sent as replacements. It came in a kit with a pre-attached combo of sliders and some line that replaced that broken sheathed line, so my bridle right now is in good shape. Replaced both sides to keep it even altho only one side had completely frayed.

Hey, I could be wrong but those look like Ronstan kite blocks. They look like cheap plastic but they have less friction than the metal sliders and they are very light weight. If they are Ronstan brand, the ones I have had on my kites last a few years at the very least, even with heavy use.

The sheath protects the core, which is where the strength of the line is. So yeah, that's toast. Replace, not repair.
For the angles the lines go through the pulleys, you're better off with them.

the red line is above the white one in which setup - when attaching the lines behind the kite or in front of the kite?

Wow its been like five years lol
I do recall the weirdness of this issue. It actually does not matter so long as you do it the same way on both sides (and yes I tested it). As a result, it does not matter if you are setting up upwind or downwind of the kite, so long as the red line is on front on both bridles or behind on both bridles (eg, not mixed up one in front and the other behind), it makes no difference.
