Cabarete february

Postby jedi1 » Thu Dec 11, 2014 1:12 pm

Hello guys,
how's Cabarete in February? I've heard that it is a windy season, but not as strong as in the summery. Is a 13 C kite enough for most days for a 80 kg rider on a twin tip or is it a 15-17m2 wind most of the time?

The wind is good in February, but really it is good all year round statistically. Right now it is hard to trust the local windmeters, but that is a long story I won't get into. I think it is hurting our tourism, I digress...

But I made a post that compiled the last 8 years of wind and put it into a chart: http://cabaretecondos.com/cabarete-wind/ If you are going to come in Feb, I suggest more than a few days because it is more unpredictable than in the summer since the steady wind is based on the thermal effect. Stay for at least a week or 2 and you are pretty much guaranteed 10 days out of 14 to be windy (disclaimer: don't quote me on that)...most people actually never go home, but that is another whole long story! Anyhow, I weight about 135 lbs and I can be on my 9m or 11m most of the time in February. Hope to see you out here! I live on kite beach and have a brindle pitbull named Twiggy. If you see us say hi!!

Hey!! Also, my birthday is in Feb on the 15th. We always have a big bon fire on the weekend. I think this year we are gonna do a pig roast. Everyone is always invited.
