Anyone ride a Mako 150 out there? I'm 200lbs and thinking about getting a 150. Any thoughts? I'm in Miami and like to ride in the Ocean / Small Surf etc.. I had a 140 and regret selling it. Thinking about getting a 150 because the 140 seemed a bit small unless the wind was cranking. Curious if anyone out there rides a 150 and has some thoughts..Thank you

You should PM SENDIT! He's about your size and can advise you on this.
He'll tell you not to hesitate - buy the 150. I'm 175 and love my riding my 140. If you already know you enjoy riding them then go for it!

I am 175 lbs and had the Mako 140 and King for quite a while. My brother had the 150 and I actually liked it the best. I am thinking of picking up a 150 myself - it is as playfull as the 140 and has a reasonable low end (still no high end limit that I found). I am keeping my Shinn Monk as well though.
Get the 150!

Agreed, I know folks who regretted the 140 ...the 150 is pretty good...almost better than the 165...

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago... I had similar issues deciding between 140 and 150 and the reason I chose 150 was the ability to set it up mutant style on a pure waves day. Cant wait to take it out!

I'm 175lbs and have the 150 wide and 150 classic, the wide is my go to in the waves, the classic is just fun to have around sometimes, its like a wide slalom water ski....lol one day I might add ski bindings to it.
Anyhow at 200lbs I would say at the least get the 150 wide.

Love my 140.... use it exclusively in any condition, waves, flat, chop... I am about 180 with all my gear on.

Glad to hear it, gregfun! That Mako 150 is one of my favorite boards. If I didn't weigh 240 (damn holidays killed me
) I'd like the 140 more. As it is, I love snaking the 140 from randycasburn when it's cranking!
Have fun on that board, you won't regret it!
