From 7am to 7pm averages are 12C air, 13 knots wind, sea temperature will be about 10C, so not very warm - especially coming from Florida. You might get away with the dry suit if you fall into the water enough. If you hire a suit, a basic 5/3 would do.
.
If I did my math right that is drysuit weather for me :-)
... I grew up in northern WI, farming & skiing in all sorts of cold & playing in Lake Michigan, but 20+ years in FL and my blood is thin!

True about the thin Florida blood. My cousin's husband is from Florida and on a visit he was wearing 2 pullovers when he saw two local girls sunbathing in bikini's.
A bit like these two girls in 5C air temperature and 9C water in January at Magheroarty in the NW of Ireland.

I plan to go to Achill Island in May ; do you think Hydrofoil is adapted in the lake or on the ocean ? In the affirmative, I wonder if Pure magic could rent one HF or if I should take mine in the plane ...

Hi Regis I think the lake may be too shallow for foiling but Francois Collusi is the man to ask as he runs Puremagic Lodge /Adventure centre on Achill, plenty of wave spots along the west coast (Keel being the main one in Achill.
Worth considering staying at the lodge for the famous pizza alone!!!
