Nimo - Not sure that those who are recommending standard surfboards understood your request.
...or maybe it's me.
You are looking for a directional with low volume (meaning non standard surfboard construction and volume) but with inserts for straps, correct?
Spleene Zone 5.3 & 5.6 directional boards have twintip construction just like your Shinnster but have inserts for straps.
The Axis New Wave 5' 8" has much lower volume than a surfboard but not a full on twintip construction like the Shinnster and the Zone boards.

The model 2010 Kontact i have has the lowest volume of all Kontacts...no official number but my estimate is @ 19L
Only 1 3/4" of thickness....narrow which is great in chop (16 7/8")....5'9" long
Pintail...3 fins

i use a custom directionnal board, aska board
it has no volume at all ( well ,the same as a TT) 17/48 cm board ( 4 9cm G10 fins)
i use it as my low wind board in lakes, unfortunatly i don t have the time or conditions to learn the jibe, so it s the plain old ass-in-the-water methode to turn it around...
allow me to ride at 8k with my 15m and it s still good in crappy choopy lakes waves when the winds picks up.more oriented as a directionnal board than a surf board ( wave type)

Second That Naish Global!.. all day long, we had a 5"2 in this year especially for a guy who, was in a similar position to you. and he loves it!!! if your slightly heavier, then global 5"8 they are incredibly fast and just eat chop… best thing you can do is try a few

I really like the look of that amundson freestyle wave, it looks like just the thing.
I have sent him an email to request some more info but I am guessing that a custom board made in Hawaii and shipped to me in the UK is going to be hideously expensive........ Any one in the UK bought one?

Looking at those admunson boards, that john-o in a 4-8 would be the ticket. Versatile fin variation, low swing weight. Similar to Tomo Evo outline.

The JohnO is not the same construction as the Freestyle Wave. Its def has more volume and will not stand the abuse of jumping nearly as well either. Though i havent seen the JohnO i have many Amundson boards including the Freestyle Wave. He will give you any fin config you desire also.

All those standard Styrofoam construction surfboards are not going to handle the real chop no matter what the shape, maybe the OR Duke will perform well with that massive concave, but nothing else with all that floatation.
True low volume or no volume constructions (like the Ansa that Voodoo mentioned, or the few that I mentioned twice) are going to carve through big lake chop way better.
Your Shinnster no volume construction is in the right vein ...now just get something with inserts for straps, and maybe a bit more surf outline.

I disagree this is more about shape than material. the shinnster has too much surface to be great in fast riding chop for jumping....certainly the thin rail helps a bit, but skinnier shapes will work better.
I love my naish global and think it is ideal for what op asks but like someone else said the amundson wave is great too..
