Rebel 2015

Postby vero » Wed Jun 24, 2015 9:03 pm

Hi There,
I am looking for feedback on the Rebel 2015. I am a 72 kg rider, using 135 TT and also starting strapless SB. I am currently on a Fuse 12M from 2012 but I would like to change for something a bit less tiring. A lot of people have reocmmended the Rebel and I wanted to know if the power on the 12M would similar to the Fuse? And if its a bit more comfortable in terms of power delivery....etc.
I dont mind a powerful kite....its just the way its being served and the level of comfort while riding, a bar easy on the arms, fairly quick turn...etc.
Also, what sort of quiver you´d´reocmmend for wind range between 12/23 knots average with occasional 25/27.
Thanks in advance.

Historically the kites have been quite similar.... But one of the advantages of the Rebel is the depower, which happens in a very short bar throw.... Is 2015 they have also eliminated the front cam battens making it easier to pack...

Ive also flown the 2016 model and is even more refined...

God....here is me wondering if the 2015 model is worth a shot, and the 2016 is already here! :-)

But in terms of flying, is the power delivery smoother than the fuse or the same? or do we still have the same power surges? Bar sensation?....If both kites are similar, just wondering if its worth changing. The packing is not the most important factor for me! ;-)

I only flew a fuse a couple of times but to me the Rebel definitely feels smoother, but with the same power overall.

We are nit talking radical diferences here, but is certainly noticeable.

And for the 2016, dont worry about it... Is not even out yet...

In the past I've only owned one Fuse (2012 9m), but I've had a few Rebels (2011 7m,11m; 2012 7m; 2013 14m). 2013 wasn't very good for Rebels. I haven't tried the newer ones.

Overall the Fuse and Rebel are fairly similar. I also felt that the Fuse had a bit more "surge" in the power delivery, but man could that thing jump! I found the Fuse a bit less forgiving in getting your timing right, but when you did time it just right, the jumps were huge and floaty.

Agree with evila, not radical differences, but the Rebel was smoother overall. I noticed this difference more on strapless surfboard. I liked the 7m and 11m Rebels strapless, but never really had a good strapless session with the 9m Fuse.

Probably 10m/13m or 9m/12m Rebels would cover that range well depending on how powered you like to be and how big your surfboard is. Could go 9m/13m, but I feel like 4m's is a noticeable gap if you like to be perfectly powered.
