Well, just bought some brand new pivots (2015 models 7 and 9 in a clear out sale) to go with my new firewire VG 5'2".
Took the 7m out in a solid 25knots and 1,5-2m waves, great conditions.
First impressions were good, smooth power delivery etc but had to abort the session after the bar smacked me in the face...
To be honest, the wave that washed me (after a floater) might have had something to do with it, but I have had bars strike me before in these conditions but never with a cut as result.
Strange looks on the beach as my face was covered with blood, luckily got a lot of help packing my stuff so I could get it glued at the hospital.
Funny thing is: Everybody on the beach commented on how hard the ends of the bar are, but on closer inspection the day after it's not made of hard plastic but slightly rubberized material..
So what do you guys think: is the Naish bar a slasher in disguise? Is their aggressive styling form over function?
Or am I just getting older and unable to take a good punch?
