Seems the kite product evolution has turned to the lowly kite pump. In an effort to make our kiting experience better -- and more profitable for manufacturers -- the pump is being improved.
After one pump wars, inflation valve sizes, trim systems, materials, etc., we now get improved pumps. Check out the latest from Core, Blade, Mystic, and Ocean Rodeo as examples.

Not sure if you really can call it pump wars when all the pumps are the same. It looks just like the new naish pump.
Its awesome and well worth it, but I doubt there are much different between the pumps. Definitely a difference from earlier years tho.

Basically same pumps just different colors. Core and F-One were the first to market them the rest are just following.

I believe that the OR pump is longer. This gives more air per pump and reduces back fatigue. So I am told.

My understanding is all the pumps are made by bravo. always have been...
these new pumps on the market are just the latest options from bravo pumps. Not everyone has started using them yet....my guess is everyone will slowly transition to these over the next couple years.
I like the idea of the larger models WMFG is offering. If I didn't already have several Cabrinha pumps I'd probably pick one of those up.

Pumps?
For me handpumps is like the toilet bowl. As advanced, cool, convenient as you can make a handpump, and as cool a handpump can make you, in the end your just sitting down taking a pump.

Taut, I agree, "wars" is hyperbole. They are all similar, but I bet brands will claim, for men, that your penis will definitely be bigger if you use theirs. I don't know what they'll claim with women.
Maybe they are all made by Bravo. At most there may be 3-4 brands manufacturing them. Each brand will request a specific feature and graphics though. Like how kites all have bumpers on the LE but each is molded to the brand's desire.
I'm all for easier pumping (as if it is that hard to begin with!). The number of kites we repair and take as trade ins that need fixin' makes the pumping get old.
Probably not worth junking your old pump, but worth it when you have to buy a new one. Nothing saves an ol' pump like silicone spray on the seals.

I’m waiting for the inflatable pump. Deflate it and stuff it into your bag.
Then again, the next fad might be the “low pressure” internally batted kites.
Could it be that the 15 PSI needed for the inflatable SUPs is driving the pump technology for kiteboarding?
