So I bought the Session due to its small size. Went kiting yesterday and what a piece of ...! I put the camera on with gopro app and checked that the helmet cam is on the right angle and hit the rec and went on the water. Hit few good jumps and waves. While on the water I checked if the rec was on and no, no it wasnt. Hit the rec button and now it's definitely on, continued my session and guess what, it took 6 seconds movie before it had turned off. Good quality mem card, way higher than the specs.
At home, I checked more thoroughly the Session, and it gets really hot. Outside it was 5 celsius and 40 knots wind so it wasnt in warm conditions. Gopro site states that the cams in higher resolutions can get too warm and shutdown, but in what temperatures one should use these to not get them overheated? At home, the rec stayed on for 10-20 seconds before shutting down. Full battery, two mem cards tested. Cards were also formatted between the tryings.
Have you bumped in to a problem like I described?

Yeah, had this on 3+.
I went to Trash -> Delete -> All -> Yes,
and format the SD in this way through camera software.
Didn't have a problem since

I was having similar issues with mine. Hold the record and menu button together for ten seconds to let it reset. Fixed my issues.

What memory card are you using? I had this happen on a gopro black 3 and it turned out the memory card was not fast enough writing the data. I found this because it would record 720p correctly but 1080p stopped after a few seconds. When the card can't keep up with the camera it just stops recording.

+1 on the memory card issue. Although I don't use GoPros, I ran into the same type of problem with my camera. It was because I tried to save a few dollars buying a cheap card. Buy the exact card that GoPro recommends and give it another try.

thanks guys, the mem card is faster that needed so it shouldn't be a problem plus I tried with another mem card as well. It's also weird that when recording the seconds playing on the camera's display don't go as seconds should, I mean they cvan go slow from 1 to 4 seconds and then quickly the next few seconds, so out of sync in a way.
I need to get in touch with the seller with this one it seems. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I own the Session and never had a problem, also in very hot days. I think you have to follow the above advices, reset, format and if it doesn't work try another card.
