Kite Lines: which ones are used by the pro?

Postby mago » Fri Dec 25, 2015 8:17 am

Standard lines equipped on most bars are pretty crap.
I've noticed that most of pro riders never use standard lines, definitely super pre-stretched, high abrasion resistance, low water absorption and not really flexible.

Can anybody address me to where to find those lines? What diameter are used?

Thank you,
F.

Well if you want stiff lines then you might consider q powerlines, but i dont think that professionals use different gear than what comes from sponsors.
Cheers, marry xmas!

They're all good. If you want the absolute best I would probably look into Core's tectanium lines.

Q lines is the best, that Core line is new and not proven and well lets not talk about the price    . Get a spool of qline, make a custom bar will last for years. I kite more than most people so my bars get used

Thank you so far. Sure that core is doing some excellent products but is not what i saw on the bar of youri, Lewis, Posito and many other riders.
Further lines, cloops and bar dimension are generally custom.
I make you an example. The bar dimension, is generally 32 to max 40cm. They do so in order not to let the kite move during doubles. North manufacture the wake style bar on purpose.

Still lines are never the series one. Took for instance the ones of Naish. They are stretching so much and plus they present pretty fast wearing. Same happen with F-one and so many other brands.

Finding the right ones is not an easy job. Diameter, drag, weigh, resistance, wearing etc..

This is why I'm looking for "pro" ones, as I believe the kites will benefit for them a lot.

Merry Xmas

Lewis and Youri fly the Best GP, the lines that come with the GP bar are super high quality. Pretty sure they use retail stuff.

The race lines that racers use break all the time, they use them because they are thinner and have less wind resistance. Not really good for free riding and longevity. I am talking about ozone, fone, cabrinha race bars/lines

You need to just ride harder, your tricks are not gonna get better from the lines      For me you are getting too tech, all the normal trolls like me have answered take it or leave it, Youri rides stock bars and many others, but can change more often than you hahaha :bye: :bye: :bye: :bye: :bye:

i am pretty sure when ruben lenten took that cliff jump at ragnorak he was using 600 pound lines that were worn halfway through. Right before he jumped he said something like I dont think this is a good idea. Right now he's riding those 1,000 pound best lines from the gp bar as said above. i don't think you can say "all pros do this" or "all pros do that" plenty of pros ride stock lines and bars, others don't they are just normal kiters, of course when you are sponsored you are riding new gear.
