Most of us seldom take the fins out of the boards for traveling, so when we want to do it..., they stick so hard to the inserts that sometimes they break.
Do you lubricate the screws?
What type of lubricant?
R U satisfied with the lubricant used after a long period of not unscrewing?
Did any lubricant disappointed you?

Try putting some plumbers tape on the threads before putting them in. This serves a couple purposes
- Prevents the screws from getting loose over time
- Prevents corrosion, which may be your problem
- Makes it easier to unscrew later on
- Won't wash away or eat into a board like lubricants might
