Since it has woodcore it’s much tougher than foamcores and it’s easier to waterstart, especially strapless.
At the other hand, woodcores in general have more flex than the foamcores and float less which is a disadvantage in lightwind conditions

Fascinating comparison of cores.. Do reinforcement choice, layup schedule and board thickness play a role too?

el Stubbo was filling nicely the gap for somebody who was mainly foiling but wanted to be able to ride it with fins and wanted something shorter than the Shinnster.

That's not too much of a gap though. I think if you have the requirement for riding foil or not you have to accept some length in your board. The Shinnster is a joy to ride without the foil, I never tried the El Stubbo.

If you still want a short dual purpose board the Nobile Skim Foil is 146 cm (El Stubbo was 135 cm).
If you want a really short foil board get the 120 cm Jackson.
