Interesting update on the Quark. Thanks for the share.
This is the point where the kickstarter-type campaigns usually go to shit, though. They've come up with a great idea and have hand built a few prototypes. Scaling this up to production is very difficult. Problems with mass producing parts in a cost effective manner creep in and they get in the "we ran into some delays but we'll be shipping next month," cycle for several months until they, potentially, burn through the kickstarter money and have to get bailed out by new investors or go belly-up.
Not to sound like a pessimist, I've just watched a lot of kickstarter campaigns with interesting pitches and then finally realized, okay, it's not worth saving $50 to get that cooler with a blender on the lid just to save a few bucks. It's never coming out and will make shitty drinks anyway. Wait for it and buy the damn thing at retail price.

Nick Jacobsen posted a video that appears to be shot with the Revl Arc camera:
https://www.facebook.com/njentertainmen ... 727095744/
Kiting starts around the 1 minute mark. I'm guessing it is the Arc because of how he swivels the camera at 1:30. Obviously no proof though.

Just saw this video from jeri. video is sped up, which doesn't help the lack of video stabilization, but the horizon doesn't stay very level when she's riding. always has a fair / a lot of tilt to it which kinda defeats the purpose for buying a gimbal camera. Even when she stoped and the camera is down, it doesn't seem to know what level is. this is a real world kiter so id suspect that these are real issues with the revl.

Wow, that's an awful video.
Does say at the end it was filmed with a REVL, though.
I agree, major stability issues and the speed doubling didn't help things.

There was an earlier post in this thread saying that the linemount is still in development. One is planned but not yet available.
So I guess you use it on a pole, helmet or rig up a kite mount while waiting for the linemount to come out.

Im not a smart guy but they spent 3 years making a high tech camera and couldn't make a plastic mount for kite lines? WTF?!

I hear ya, but remember, it's a startup. All hands on deck. Stretch those investment dollars as far as possible. If the camera doesn't work they don't have a product to sell, so that has been the #1 priority.
That's my guess. It's hard for small startups to compete with large corporations that have thousands of chinamen sitting around to make prototypes. I don't know anything about the REVL company, but I'm guessing it's been less than 10 people for most of those 3 years.
