Don't mean to be rude Revl, but that looks a little bit shite.

Wow. Thanks for the headache. Even image stabilization on a hero 5 session is better than that thing and also in terms of image quality. Just saw that you can get a hero 5 session for $199. Add that stabilizer for $149 and for 349, you've got a camera system better and smaller than a revl with better quality.

Check out this video from a guy who just got his. He says its filmed completely on the REVL.
The stabilisation (even the roll) and color depth look pretty bad to me.

Ouch. Yeah. I don't see people running out to buy that, then.
A stabilization grip in that environment would've been butter smooth.
So for water, maybe just turning on the in Camera stabilitzation in your GoPro and doing additional in post is the way to go.
So is the only benefit that we don't have to rotate the image when we attach to our kite? I guess as a kite cam, the Revl may be the go-to. Because editing that rotation in post production is a good bit of work.

Well. At least until this "Quark" comes out. Combine the GP6 stabilisation with the horizon levelling of the Quark and that will be the ultimate Kite Cam.

I pre-ordered the Quark. Mostly because I already have GoPro cameras.

True, but the odds are better since it is a much more simple device compared to the Revl camera.

Not sure - it’s much easier to make waterproof something completely enclosed. I have no idea how Quark’s guys planning to make waterproof AND reasonably easy to rotate connection of this size. Especially if it needs to work in salt water environment.

Oh, I just looked at that thing. That's pretty cool. I agree with @gmb13 ... that thing and the GP internal stabilization should be pretty solid.
I'd be worried about it getting caught in kite lines as it rotates, but it's still worth checking out.
Any rumor on how far along that thing is to being a real product? As we know, you can't just the videos on the kickstarter campaign pages. They're usually bullshit.
