Yep, I've found that it's easier depowering in the waves too, no body adjustment to reach the trim strap. I've also had good feedback from foilers using the bar for the same reason.
As foiler I also confirm that with this good bar I can keep the body in line which is a real advantage for my medium-lever. Combining it with a mini Chicken-loop is wonderful for short arms like I have.

I also like to have the bar close to me specialy in the waves ,I use a ride engine with slider bar , but where did You find a short chicken-loop for the OR stick shift bar ?

You could shorten the loop in about a minute but not sure how it would work with the tension on that angle.
I'm sure there will be something in the grapevine eventually

I have removed the chicken loop and replace by a old cabrinha leash mushroom , as per photo:

This is a homemade and unofficial modification but it suits my needs 100 % ( I do not like sliding bars but rather short Mini chicken loop fixed in the middle for higher precision in freeride mode)

Please elaborate on how to shorten a chicken loop in a minute, thanks

pull it out of the QR, cut it off, heat the rope so it doesn't fray, put it back in. It actually takes about 3 minutes I lied.

Like I said though I'm not sure how a shorter loop would stress the QR. I made a really short one and it was a PITA to reset.

Wouldn't be too hard to create one like the Talon or similar that fits into the OR QR.

Had another great session on the Stick Shift today, have been chopping and changing between it and the Control Bar for a quite sometime now, but it is sooo much better in the surf. Can trim wherever/whenever without adjusting body position, I usually didn't touch the trim too much, but find myself using it a lot more which is actually helping me to improve my wave kiting.

Honestly I don't think I can think of a situation where I would prefer to use a standard bar anymore.

Sounds like a sales pitch pimp but this bar has grown on me, a lot.

@eastcc, isn't there some sort of end piece that needs to be spliced back on the CL after shortening? How easy or difficult to completely replace/remove CL on Stick Shift bar?
