What Board for Big Air

Postby fat blokes can fly » Sat Oct 08, 2016 9:24 pm

So time has come to consider a new board. I currently ride a Flyradical S 2011 which is good for boosting off flat water but not very good in chop and it also throws up spray to the face. It is also not very forgiving on the knees. Saying that it has been a good board, just fancy a change.

So what is out there that is ok in chop and boosts well, aiming to beat my current personal best on the WOO.

Couple of options that are on discount at the minute are Crazyfly Raptor LTD & Brunotti Dimension. What else is out there and what have you guys experienced?

I don't think board selection matters much.

what do-it said. kite, wind speed, and your technique is what you want to master to boost high

I appreciate that, I am happy with my kite choice & technique, this has all been considered.

Simple fact my flyradical S 2011 is poor in chop and heavy on the knees and possibly a little small for my 100kg. in subsequent years there was the addition of flex tips which aided chop.

So I am looking at changing my board, what are you guys using?

I think you are looking for the Shinn Bronq 137 x 44. Flexible, light, medium rocker for chop.

What is your experience of this board? All boards say they are brilliant on research, the review of a user (non pimp) is most important. :thumb:

Ihave a north nugget and a whip. They are suprisingly great in heavy chop. no spray to the face and you can boost them easy and high.

i like doing kiteloops and handle passes but I'm a beginner still with the handle pass nonsense. I never use a woo because it just turns me into a liar, lol. in my opinion the jaime is the best board in the world. But I think everyone says that about their own board.
