I rode the Evo 5'1 in FST back to back with my Vader 5'1. Nice surfboard especially for light wind but I prefer the vader much more it's faster more radical jumps better and still flies upwind. But vs. My Vanguard I would take the Evo it's better turning for sure.

Timbertek will not hold up for kiting even if you don't jump just hit a piece of chop the wrong way at speed and you'll find out. At the very least get FST version if you can't get. Kite construction

Timbertek makes a nice coffee table once you crease it though :)

Has anyone compared the EVO FST to the EVO LFT? I love my LFT Evo. What I am worried about is that the FST Evo might not have the same flex characteristic as it does not have the PVC stringer that the LFT has. Also the added weight of the FST worries me a bit and is holding me off ordering one until I snap m LFT.

But the Evo and Nugget are not even remotely close in terms of user experience IMHO. Event the north whip which is supposed to be similar to a Tomo does not ride close to the Tomo boards. I have not ridden a Evo but have ridden the VG and Vader and can imagine the Evo has many similar traits.
Which Nugget are you talking about? Note that in the comparison it was the Nugget CSC 2016 which he made the comparison with.
It was older, definitely not a 2016.

Are you talking abt Evo in kitesurf version weight wise, ie. is it the lightest board of them all? Thanks.
I have not weighed any of them, but I am used to kiting with Slingshot and North Boards, so the first time I picked up any of the FST firewires I was amazed at how light they are.

If i get a chance i will weigh them.

A while back, I asked Felix about the Vader/Evo.
His response was...
Vader = Sports car
Evo = Cadillac
It would be interesting to hear from him to see if he has anymore time on the Evo & if his opinion has changed any.
I'm getting a demo board next week to see for myself.

Opinion has not changed.
Both great boards..
The style of riding I like to do on a wave I have to say the Vader makes it a dream.
The Evo is a super smooth board gives you a smooth Caddy feel . Still with a nice snap and glide.
Really would also depend on what your style is.
Regards
Felix.
