I see FireWire are soon to release the new Helium Tech, sounds like its going to replace FST - anyone know if/when we might see it in kite construction ?

I would imagine so, the Helium Tech is replacing FST.
I also believe there is a "Slab" (John John Florence model) coming out in kite construction very soon.

Any feedback from current owners of the board in helium tech?

Here are some photos of my 5'1, I haven't been able to properly test it yet.

I just got my 4' 10" HEVO

It seems really light, like surfboard light, but I have no reason to believe it won't last. There are a couple of cosmetic blems around the channels.

I went smaller because I have a 5' 6" Slingshot Celeritas and running a thruster setup, medium fins. Tempted to go smaller as the channels have some bite. I have ridden a vader and thought the quad setup seemed a bit draggy.

I rode strapless yesterday and I have to admit put some NSI surf and skim pads on with footstraps today. 7.5m kite and low to mid 20's day worked quite well.

I only drove the nose into the water a couple of times on bottom turns or going through a wave. The longer classic Celeritas really likes to have the whole rail driven into the water during a turn.

At 75kg, I'm concerned that it might be too big for kiteing & too small to paddle.

I'm just a touch south of 70kg and paddle surf a 5'1" no problem even on mushy stuff.

nice pictures , ta for sharing. I am saving money to buy a tomo evo , vanguard or vader board. I asked in torquey surf shops and they said Vanguard is no longer in production.

I got a Vader in Helium tech.
Weight is pretty insane for a kiteboard.



No dents after 10 sessions or so.
So it seems to hold up to my abuse.

They seem like a good all around fin. I notice more of a difference in the materials of the fins vice the subtle change in shape in this series.

The plastic fins are too flexy. The fancy hollow ones, one hit on a rocks and they are toast.

I like the neo glass as they have a nice flex, are solid, and because they are molded fit precisely right out of the box. The fancier hand made fins I have had to file to get them flush.

Note I filled in the quad rear inserts.
