Not enough huh... I don't know.
Decide for yourself if you think it needs more.
I was looking for information, and I got it, because I plan to buy new Torch.
Thought that would be nice to share it...

i have 2017 9 m and rode it with old naish 5 line bar and it was great , wind was 20-27 K
high end is the best , go overpowered and boost like crazy .

sizes above 11m are no good for Ckites, i found Park way better low wind kite.

seems like 2017 Torches are overpowered boosting kites only

seems nuts that the torch could be so much less powered than last year. have you checked the actual physical size of the kite? Maybe this year's 12 meter kite is now 11.5 meters in reality. If that's the case then it kind of sucks because they make them 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and then skip 13 go straight to 14, lol.

What do you mean sizes above 11 are no good?
The Torch or in general?
I am looking for more slack .For me 14 is very nice size for for boots.
I had Parks, and yes ,better low end in bigger sizes, but it's not my cup of tea...
Below 11 personaly I would go for wave kite.No loops anymore after I torn my ACL...
Have you tried the 14 with the 2017 bar?

to fully enjoy big C kite you gotta have silky smooth wind . Specially when you on the edge to be under powered,.
Ive been thru this a few times , if you kite in gusty location C kites are pain in the ass .
I havent tried 2017 14 m , but from what everybody say low end power is bad .

I think any C-kite will be bad on low-end.
What we should be looking at is projected area and there is a significant difference between C kites and flatter cousins.

Not sure Matt, I've been riding Cs since 2005, and after one year of riding Parks, I've got back for the exactly same reason. Unpredictability in gusty conditions.Especially when the wind picks up.
Btw I can't see OP mentioning 14 but 12... ( maybe I missed some post/s)
Anyway each to his own, I've never pecieved C's as low wind kites per se, just 14 when it's 14 ;)
If you try one, please, let me know I'll appreciate it.

i really don't understand that for some of you "c" kite have bad low end... i 've rode torch 2005 (shitty kite) 2014 and 2015 (super kite! ). I am 75kilos and if i can't ride with my 12m other rider have flysurfer kite, surfboard foil or very large twin tip !
I saw some riders with the new 2017 (2017 bar) and for me the kite was flying very stangely compared to mine (2015)...And now i understand why they were on their 12m when i was fully powered on my 10 (with boots ! ).

If Naish did a shit with the new kite and the new bar for sure they will never recognized it...and will fix the problem next year !

I ve just read that Naish sujested to lengthen the 5th line....for a 2000$ kite they can't tune it before selling it ? :nono:

Kite manufacturers always tend to f*** up a good thing.
