I just rode a Mako for the first time a couple weeks ago and now I kinda want one. It was so nice on my knees in the chop, despite its stiffness. A split would be interesting, but a foil plate mount would be even better.

It would be good for board manufacturers to provide a "shim" with a flat surface on one side, and have the other side match the bottom contour of their board - with a thin layer of rubber.

This would reinforce the board and make a nice solid connection.

Yes indeed ;
I had envisaged something similar last year , to adapt a flex directionnal board (Shinn Wave), but lack of time and skills ... and found nobody to do it. I think that even an enlarged and stiffened platine to cover the stance should be enough ... like the KF-box out from Ketos (enlarged 40 cm upward) ; then just 4 holes in the board ...

But Ketos was not so interested with this idea unfortunatelly.

Associated to a stiff Mako-split , It could be a good work for versatility ...
