Anyone had a Posterior Ankle Impingement?

Postby nick14 » Sun Feb 05, 2017 11:29 am

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has got this from kiting?

Pretty sure I have it....self diagnosed from google.

If so what did you do about it and how long for recovery.

And no I'm not a ballet dancer!

Cheers

Google say wrote:Posterior ankle impingement often occurs due to inadequate rehabilitation following an acute ankle injury. In some cases, an individual may have an anatomical variant in their talus bone, known as an os trigonum, which is quite normal. However, it may have an increased likelihood of developing this condition, particularly in the very active.
Had an acute ankle injury in the past?

I busted that leg once about 20 years ago but nothing since I think.

YEA , i did in 2003 ; cured it by pushing my foot-straps closer to the heal-side edge
of the board, to where the heal of my foot was 1-inch from the rail. Doing that reduced
the pressure on my ankle.

NOW -- i got two Fake feet made of SS and carbon ; so i put the foot-straps
back to the center of the board. Every now & then, my ankles squeak a bit
in the water ; WD-40 works fine for that !! --------------

Thanks for the feedback Billie. I'll try that out.
