Hi , I will be moving to Chico and am trying to meet any local kiters and get information about kiting at the Oroville afterbay. Any information would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Try http://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/forum/ or calling up http://kitezombies.com/

Not too many "locals" up there.

Welcome to the north valley, Oldpeople. Thermalito is the mainstay for off-season kiting, and attracts dedicated kiters from Chico, Yuba City, Sacramento, Grass valley, Davis and other Sacramento Valley cities.
We're just moving into the peak north wind season, March thru June. The north wind here is usually smooth, often blows all day long, and sometimes blows for several days in a row. If it blows on a weekend, there's usually a half dozen to a dozen kiters out.
Unlike most reservoirs in California, it is kept full year-round.
See you out there!
