How about getting back to the original question. Any word on the Core XR5.

very interested in checking out their new kite design
I'm not sure how accurate this advertisement is for the XR5 on sale now at a Dutch site...

Does it look all that different from XR 4? Very serious looking kite, kinda like a ME-109!

The graphics are just a bit different than the XR4. Unless, you saw the kites side by side, it would be easy to mistake one for the other.

Sorry guys, Core doesn't want the pictures to be shown before the official launch.
To avoid any issues I removed them.
Once official, I will post them.

We were able to get a sneak peek and Core got a little free pre-release hype, I think that's a win win.

Graphics are not the problem. The impression I have about all new kites is that we are now on the upper part of an asynptotic curve. Every new model is for sure somehow better than the previous one but innovation is really a one digit percent value. Unfortunately, this is becoming true not only on a previous to next model comparison base but also between 3 or 4 years old and new kites. There is not a dramatic difference in performance between a 2013 and a 2017 model, just refinements. I hope the new Core will bring a breath of fresh air in the market but I think its' really impossible at the moment to develop a true innovating product.
About me, I'm buying new kites only to replace old ones suffering of wear and tear. The only real giant steps I can see in kiteboarding at the moment are in the foiling department.

Looks like nothing has changed from XR4s
- slight graphics update (barely distinguishable)
- slightly shorter bridle
- maybe wider strut connectors
