I don't care too much about name.
So we have :
Sent kite or not
Pop away or toward kite
Initiate rotation from board or using body/head
Trying to throw it more or less inverted.
Many combination to play with ;)

I think traditional name is from wakeboarding which is somewhat inverted backroll initiated using head.

corked, inverted, off axis, roll, flip, rotation, back spin - a backroll is simply a 360 roll inverted at 220 degrees with boned out stale grab and at minimum a single pass. Contrary to popular belief they are not possible to do in a legit fashion without the added style of boots that are stiff enough to make it legit hard to grab. That is what I told a local grey haired middle aged rider after he claimed a backroll - he cried, that told him! lol

it says Back 360, not Back 3.
back 360, back 3 same thing. but it is not a back roll

its a on axis 360 where you back turns in to the direction of travel
what's an unhooked back rotation with a send kite then in the unhooked world without handle pass?
Its a fail

Listen everybody

A backroll is a back rotation moving away from the kite. Whatever the height and the hookedness. And yes a backside 3 moves in the other direction but no one Reading here does Them anyway

If it gets really inverted you Can Call it a backflip If you want

Really simple. So ffs Mr braeuer could you please stop trying to complicate everything and make up your own definitions??

It's not my definitions, but too many have it wrong and think they do a Backroll but they do a back rotation.

I do have to be exact on this because otherwise I don't know what a trick is like. Otherwise it's get confusing.
Sorry that I do so many.

Jerome: that picture shows an Inverted Backroll in kiteboarding. Do wakers call it the same?

Gas: Inverted Front 360 Tail Grab
This trick with a Backroll would be lower and with the kite on one position, not sent. Like the wake kids do.

A back roll is an invert. By definition.
