Never been totally happy about entire function of the bar relying on 10 cents of eleastic! I always carry a spare piece as have seen two bars affected while in use. Though to be fair both bars had been very well used and the owners said they'd noticed the bungee losing its elasticity over last few outings. Humm!

Plus the bungy inside, the tape on the ends, sewing machine rental, and your time
I'd happily pay $8 for someone else to do it
If it included the grey rope thing yeah, but check out the greenhat link. It appears to be just a 10 cent piece of bungie cord with a knot tied in either end.

That's a completely different part--goes into the QR hat. The OP was about the trim line . . . I think we got wires crossed

Yes, there appears to be two parts in the bag.
I think you're the only one with crossed wires, take it up from the greenhat kiting link.
The conversation was about the bungee cord, cos that's what in the link.

Aloha,
The grey one is a spare trim line (the part that runs through the stainless steel cleat. The black one is a spare bungee for the QR body cover just about the harness loop. Both are included as a courtesy. In case you wear it out from riding too much or to hard, the first one is free - on us. Aloha!
