To get more depower check the length of your depower.

If you have longer arms and you could extend more, try to make your depower longer.

Only 5 cm can make a big difference. Sometimes I use the stopper for a trick...so I move it a bit down...if I don't move it up all the way again, I can get overpowered much easier. If the stopper is all the way up as I usually ride, I can hold much more wind.
Try it and see.

On the other hand, if you have shorter arms, your wind range will be less die to more limited depower way.

Definition:
Overpowered - you can sail no more than 5 mph.
Way overpowered - you are not moving, kite is 12 o'clock, and yet lifted above the water surface on every gust.

A kite with the trim all the way pulled in and powered up is usually unstable and dangerous u dont want to get to that point. On the water if ure having trouble holding your edge with kite 3/4 pulled in ure probally overpowered and should switch down. But be careful when u get on land as u don't have the water to counteract .

On a twin tip - You've pulled a fair amount of depower in and you have difficulty maintaining an edge. Since you can't hold an edge you have to slow down to in maintain your kite at the edge of the window.

Yup, out are basically overpowered when you can not maintain your normal stance of shoulders back/hips forward to set the edge of the board. As soon as you have to bend at the waist and start to lose the edge you are overpowered. How much overpowered you like to ride is a different question.

On a waveboard you are not really edging much, so very different when you feel overpowered here - it is way earlier than on a TT thats for sure

And our experiences is it is when you can not go in/out nomore without almost being dragged sideways, kite fully depowered.

This happens a lot earlier than when you "lose your edge" on a TT, and when this happens, you almost HAVE to let it go to the QR to get ashore again, as you can hold a lot more edge on the water, than you can hold standing/walking.

"Overpowered" has only relative not absolute meaning. It's like boosting "huge". What's huge to one person isn't to another. I guess a good definition is that you wish you were on a smaller kite. So maybe you are on a 15m and wish you were on a 10m kite. Or maybe you are on a 12m kite and wish you were on a 10m kite. For me I say I'm overpowered in my boots when my forearms start to ache from holding the kite down. I would then switch from a 15 to my 10. On my hydrofoil I can be overpowered on a 12 and need to switch to a 10 or just wipe out all the time. So it's all relative.

If your Overpowered , and coming back to the beach to get a smaller kite ; pull
the QR while your still in the water, because it's Much safer ! A bit of self-rescue
practice, is better than taking the chance of getting dragged down a beach with
an over powered kite.

About the same feeling I think. Even on a waveboard you have a normal riding stance/feeling and when you have to ride differently because you have to spend more time dealing with the kite and have less attention to the wave you are probably overpowered.

The 9 was lovely in the gusts, but piss poor in the lulls! In my mind at the time I thought a 12 would have been just about spot on...but I have an internet spending addiction so I would think that
An 11m would fit just nicely between your 9m and your 14m. Time to get your credit card out - YKIMS :thumb:
I know!

That would be the point of divorce I think after a recent spate of purchases! ...I know kiting is eventually going to get me divorced but I was hoping to eek a few more years out before the inevitable :D
There'll be some cheap Evo's soon when the 2018 North kites come out, just wait a month, OK?
