I have put my new 8m Pivot on top of the 2017. The only difference seems to be the trailing edge. No dacron anymore, but doubled with canopy cloth in that shark teeth fashion. Looks like that this year it is about weight optimization. I am curious if I will feel any difference when flying.
Keep us posted!
I don't know how much weight they shaved off but it could impact the weight distribution making it more front-heavy & thus affect the drift. Just theorizing of course.

I'm interested as well, but I will probably get the new ones. Definitely.
How do you think it will impact the drift? The lighter weight will make it easier to drift for sure, but the weight distribution I guess should not impact that much because when you drift the kite you tend to depower right? So as long as the shape stays the same it wouldn't really matter right? I'm also speculating of course.

The balance between front tube and trailing edge is going to be different when the latter weighs less. So unless the front tube is lightrr as well, the centre of the kite will be in a different position compares to before. I assume that will have an impact on the drifting capabilities. We'll see when we get back user experiences!

That is so true. I saw the pics someone posted and has the same reaction.
I didn't see a foil board review yet.
