The Staaker, good features compared to AirDog, rather basic too, but one main drawback: cannot control start/stop GoPro remotely. Might not be even be released yet.

Just filmed my wife kiting in Madagascar with the Mavic, it was fantastic and wind was in the 25-30kn range.

Had to fly it in sports mode, and rigorously filmed only upwind of my take off location so to be prepared in case of wind increase.
Kept it at around 25-30meters altitude so not to worry about kite lines etc.
to note, it was an ideal location as we are talking about a remote bay with no one else on the water.

The Mavic is absolutely unbeatable to me for its portability factor, I can go anywhere with it, remote and 3 batteries and the whole package is as big as my dslr: just unbelievable.

The downside is that I'll never film myself, as I would only let a pro pilot use my drone.
I am honestly waiting for Dji to finally enter the sports market with something a-la Airdog.

The Staaker is out, I have it and have bin filming kiting with it. It does work, easy to control while riding. Also have Dji Phantom 2 and Mavic pro...

Has anyone tried filming with the dji spark? The cost is more in my price bracket, but more concerned with short flight time and being lighter weight maybe it's less stable too?

Haven´t tried it but have heard it can´t take as much wind... so was not an option for me when I bought the Mavic

DJI has released yesterday the Mavic Platinum. 30mn airtime and 60% less noise. It seems a good candidate for me.
