Hi All,
My wife and I have moved from Australia to Maui.

I have been researching the best places to kitesurf on maui along with the different rules etc

I would say I am an advanced beginner to basic intermediate kitesurfer that can stay upwind, ride toeside and perform small jumps.

I am going to be living in Kihei but from what I can see the best beach for me would be on the north side. Flash beach or Naish Beach I think it's called.
As I will be living in Kihei I don't want to drive over to check if the conditions are good so I have some questions that hopefully some locals will be willing to help with.

What is the best website for wind predictions (the ones I have been looking at predict 12 knots yet when I am in kahului it is blowing at least 18-20) does anyone know of some more accurate sites? or do you just add 5 knots to whats predicted?

Secondly is Naish Beach one of the better ones to go to for clean wind and less people?

Third are there any beaches on Kihei side that can be used if so what conditions would I be looking for ?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Wow, how lucky are you both. Great location and weather. I have kited a number of times at kite beach next to the airport. After 11am and wind is great for a 6-8m, nice bunch of locals. Facilities poor, portable toilets, small dirt car park but great kiting. Call in at Adventure Spots, great range and gear for al your kiting needs and speak to the local Cabrinha guys and they will also advise where else to go.

Also get in contact with Greg Drexler, Maui Cloud (kitesurfing Maui) he will also give you some tips.

Maui is a awesome place to be. Its super windy during the summer! I live in Kihei! Sugar Beach in Kihei when the Konas blow but its usally lighter wind. Also Ive seen guys out at the cove but need that south wind. I'd say it blows maybe 1 day out of 10 in the winter. Im always looking for kite buddy's message me if you want to hang.

ikitesurf.com has lots of good wind sensors on Maui, definitely worth the subscription.

Lol on the writing a book more like a short story it would go like this.
Marry an American citizen , apply for a green card , jump through the 14 months worth of hoops and thousands of dollars in fees etc, move to Maui.

It’s that easy lol

Thanks everyone for the responses I actually use the aviation weather read outs for they Airport they are free and super accurate PM or email me if you want more information.
