So, just got myself a 2018 Signature but I am also going to keep my 2017 Mitu and also had a go on the new 5'1 Slice of a friend. The slice has the flattest rocker line and the widest average width so no surprise is the fastest planning and best upwind. Perfect for cruising in lighter winds and of course strapless freestyle on flat or choppy water.
The signature has the most rocker of the three, the narrowest average width and also is the thinnest (less volume for it's length). Excellent for carving full tilt (my style) but at the detriment of early planning and upwind performance at the low end.

The Mitu sits right in between the 2 which explains it's popularity. Unless you are consistently riding down the line proper waves it's the best board for most of us 90% of the time. If you are a specialist or want to do freestyle in lighter winds the Slice might be better but if the wind is up you can freestyle with any board as long as it is not too heavy.
Hello,

Im about to order the M2 Carbon.
What size would you suggest for a rider @78kg? (5,6 or the 5,8?)
I mostly ride around 20-25 knots 1m-1.5m waves and like to jump of the waves and carving in between.
THX!

I really want a mitu. Have done since there release. Doesn't fill you with confidence in the durability of the board though hearing your comments of breakages. :-(
Don't worry, 2017 Mitu's are excellent and have heard of 0 breakage till now. 2018 are supposed to be stronger and lighter. Avoid 2016 and especially 2015.
Really..?? I have the 2015 Mitu and it's my first surfboard that haven't cracked on deck or have any dents at all in hull. At my home spot I never use a leash so the board is washed up on the beach in the shorebreak. Once it also went over a huge almost submerged rock but that time I guess I was just lucky.

Have owned both Airush and North boards earlier and all cracked from heel dents and also had dents in hull. DISCLAIMER! Airush board was from 2011 and North boards from 2013 so I'm NOT saying that those brands have bad quality today. Just saying that the 2015 Mitu is the toughest board I've used up to date.

I've just got my Mitu Pro 5'8, and it is 4kg!! :o Too heavy! On site it says 3.5kg. 0,5Kg of difference is too much. This is my first mitu, so I didnt know it could get that heavy... I´m thinking on replacing it...

Maybe 3.5kg is the weight without the deckpad?
