Wainman depower-line spare part

Postby GTC » Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:31 pm

Hi all,

Some time ago the depower line of my Carrot Bar snapped. I didn't notice the wear of the line because it was coated by the plastic tube...

I would like to purchase this spare part but seems that it isn't available in any shop. Even WH online store has no stock...

So I tried to disassembly the line from the QR but it's impossible. Looks like a clever designer decided that allowing the user to change only the line was not a good idea.

Any suggestion on how to fix it?

Regards!

Pretty sure you can change the line on that. I'll take apart my old wainman bar when I get a chance. I need to part it up anyway, maybe later today and let you know how it's done.

Hi edt,
Looks difficult. There are no screw holes or any moving part to detach the line from the black piece...

I possibly have a new one too.

But, you should be able to get one from Wainman pretty easily. I used to go through Kite Naked, the US distributor. They would get Wainman to send the part direct to me.

if you wanna buy my part, $15 send me a private message. Mine is not brand new though it has a little bit of wear and a brand new part will last a little longer.

Thank you some much guys for your help!

The German shop posted by Xanpet has stock. I've already placed an order.

Edt, I would have had no trouble buying it from you, but sending it from the US to Spain would have made the shipping expensive and longer. I really appreciate your offer.

Fair winds!

btw: that depower-line posted by Edt is different form mine. My DL has a black solid plastic piece (which is impossible to remove) inside the red one.

yeah not worth the shipping, didn't realize you were in spain. On your black solid piece there is supposed to be an allen key socket which anchors it to the kite line. Once you unscrew that you are supposed to be able to just pull it out, anyway guess it doesn't matter now.
