Hello,

I want to buy a Naish Pivot 2017 but i doubt about a 8 or 9 meter. I am 60 kilo and i have at the moment a Naish Park 2011 9m. Mostly i kite with the wind: 15-22 knots.
I read a lot of messages that say that the Naish Pivot is actually bigger than the indicated size. Now the question: do i have the same low-end with a Naish Pivot 8m 2017 as with my Naish Park 2011 9m?
I don't want to waste low-end but im afraid that if i buy a 9m pivot i get a kite with the feeling of a 10m, what for my weigh to big is.

If you are well powered on the 9 park, you might be able to get away with an 8. Pivot is definitely more powerful than Park, but I do not think its because it is bigger. Shape is different. Or consider getting a kite with a bit more grunt. What type of riding do you do?

I only do freeride and normal jumps (no tricks, unhooked stuff). De pivot seems as a good freeride kite where you can jump high with. I called two stores and they say the 8m is a better choice for me. According to them the low-end is about the same as the park 2011 9m. But i never tested it. With the 9m park 2011 i can kite from 15 knots, and it has a very good high-end.

Pivot certainly is a great freeride kite. It just does just about everything well.
Yeah at your weight that seems to be fair. If your sessions are 90% in the 18-22 knots you might want to go to 9 simply if you want your jumps to go higher.

I would get the 8, especially a your weight. I replaced a 9m 2014 Park with a 8m Pivot when I switched to Pivots and got the same range (73kg). I believe the later Parks had a bit more low end already compared to the 2011 model. 16 knots and I am on my 8m. Great kite. I had all years and now the 2018. They are all almost similar but the quadtex cloth which they introduced last year is very nice and durable. Using the adjuster you also get a lot of range and it still flies well when you have pulled in the adjuster a lot. That wasn't the case with the Park. It is a different kite to the Park, more delta-ish compared to Open-C-shape. It is a bit more easy to fly, jumps really high, better hangtime than Park and works really well in waves.

I would for sure do the 8m.

I'm 20kg + more than you and use my 8 as my high wind kite. I've been recently thinking about finding a 6m as my 8m seems a bit more grunty/powerful than other brands I've owned.

As Taut said, it's a great do everything kite. There are specialist kites that will be better for boosting or pure surf, but it's no slouch in either department.

Well normally a smaller kite should move a bit faster than a bigger kite. In general I jump higher on the pivot than on the parks. I'd say as long as you are not at the top of your range the 9 pivot will jump higher, but then I am kind of thinking the 8 pivot will jump better than the park. A lot of this is technique and speed on the board..but the pivot makes it easier to load up on speed and keep control as you send the kite IMO which should translate in higher jumps.

I've used multiple brands and pivots and don't find their sizing off in any way. this is not at all a grunty or oversized kite that makes you need smaller. and as the name implies, it pivot turns with almost no power, so it is not a kite you're likely to feel overwhelmed with in turns, jumping, looping, ... my advice: whatever sizing you usually go with, keep here.
