Ozone Hyperlink / Kitech Free RS

Postby early bird2 » Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:19 am

It would be interesting to have a review of these two kites head to head , I heard the Kitech Free RS is a very well constructed sealed kite, floats and relaunches very good even better than the HP . I'm currently looking for a 9 meters , anyone demoed both ? Thanks.

I want to know too! I think people in facebook group "kite-hydrofoil miami" have both, I am stalking them to get some info. hopefully I can demo those.

I am really eyeing Hyperlink and Kitech Fly 4 / free RS
I will probably pull the trigger on one next spring.

Wondering why the Free RS is not appearing in Kitech's site??
Also interested in comparing any or both to the Airush Ultra 12 m2, especially in 12 m2 size for HF light winds (<10Knt)

A friend of mine demoed both , said the HP was good but preferred the Kitech for the construction , triple stitch and does not take any water for a long period sitting in the water . May be he will chime in .

Free RS is brand new, it appears that they are sending it around to brand ambassador/shops to get feedback, there are a lot of videos on facebook or youtube.

I like the direction these free ride foil kites are headed. I tried the HL and Free RS in 12M size back to back it was just one day around 15 MPH so take it for what it is. I ended buying the Free RS and like it a lot. The RS is lighter faster turning more responsive jumps better and loops more like an LEI. The HL is more grunty super stable sheet and go style has more bar pressure and turns more like other Ozone foils ie rotating off the wing tip . Both get the job done but I chose the Free RS because it suits my riding style better and has superior relaunch with a very simple short bridle. The RS is the first foil kite that I feel is responsive enough to ride with a surfboard and skimboard. Having said all that I switch off to Ozone Reo 12m as soon as conditions allow (unless its a jump session)

Glad to hear foil kites are going this direction. Eventually I'd like to build a travel quiver without a pump. And my wife doesn't like windy vacations spots, so it will probably be a 12m foil kite, split-board, and carbon foil...

Hyper light and conceptair pulsion were on my short list. I'll have to check out the Kitech RS too.

I second everything airsurfer said. Kitech is hands down the better kite. Just as easy to fly, better performance, 30% the cost.
The most impressive part to me is that it just doesn't fill with water.
