The 2018 Cabrinha Ace has a few changes from the 2017.
First the 2017 137 x 41 has been replaced with the 138 x 41.5 [ can any offer an explanation?]
Next, it seems like they have discontinued the H2 binding...Did anyone get the H2 binding that can tell us what they liked or disliked about it?
Cabrinha is selling off the 2017 inventory at 25% discount, but I want the 2018 model, has anyone seen the new 2018 Ace and are the changes worth while?
thanks

I have ridden the 2017 Ace (my wife's) and I just got delivery of the my 2018 Wood Ace (138x41.5. To me, the major difference is that the 2017 is much (skatier) while the 2018 tracks and carves better.
Previously, the Tronix 137x41 was my go to board. Big air, easy to ride in chop, and carved good enough to use in the surf if I didn't have my directional. The 2018 Wood Ace does everything the Tronic did and BETTER! I went with the wood as it is a softer ride. i ride straps. If I rode boots, I might have considered the carbon.
I also have a 2016 Xcaliber 135x41 Carbon. I needed to ride a smaller carbon board do to the stiffness and the chop at my local spot. It also has wider tips than the tronic and Ace that makes carving more difficult...at least for this old guy.
Also, I rode the H2s and sorry to see them go. First and foremost the pads were softer making the chop and landings better. i also liked the two straps which allowed more detailed adjustment on the foot. I have ridden the new H1s, and they are better than previous versions.
As you may already know, I have been afficiated with Cabrinha since the beginning...2001. Hope these comments help
Steve

thank you for the review. dying to get out snd try my new ace. although no one would budge on msrp greenhat threw in a free NP board bag and got my business. the 2018 has more adjustment points than my spectrum and the 2018 H one seems to be an improvement over the 2016 H one
