Mystic Clickerbar 4.0 - Surf **Beware**

Postby badgb21 » Wed Oct 04, 2017 4:30 pm

Has anyone had chance to try one of these yet?
I'm keen to know how far the metal ring extends out under load, compared to a regular hook.

I've tried it and measured it. I had to adjust the reach on my bar about 2.5cm as well.
Hook to CL = 5cm & Ring to CL = 7.5cm when loaded (both measured at the inside of the CL where it makes contact)
You could adjust the rope a bit tighter, so getting the ring closer to 5cm may be possible.
Btw, the V4 of the Clickerbar is a big improvement over the older generations. Super easy to open now!

Thanks for that Yoda.
I had a dynabar years ago and the reach was way too much.
I am now looking at this Mystic option, assuming I can shorten the rope ok, I may go for it.
Was looking at the NP tracker, but that got a poor review on here, for corrosion and feel.

So, I got one of these online, only to find it won't fit my 2016 Mystic harness.
I sent it back at my cost and got a refund.
Seems the clicker 4 works with 2 X 25mm webbing straps. This allows you to have the bar either way around depending on regular of Goofy - sorry I even just bored myself there.
Earlier harnesses have a wider and narrower webbing strap.

I contacted Mystic to give them my feedback and got a response to say they were considering adding the webbing information to their website - very magnanimous of them!

I also said that because of their poor information I was stuck with the return shipping cost. They dismissed this.
Perhaps they was an opportunity to incentivise a loyal Mystic user for many years, with maybe an equivalent cost off a Mystic product, but no they decided just to be nonchalant and piss me off.

Well Mystic your customer service stinks and I hope others don't get caught in your poor attitude.
