Wetsuit itches

Hey dudes.

My wetsuit itches around my back, where the harness is placed. Usually it appears after an hour or two and itches so bad that I'll need to stop my session.
My wetsuit is a Mystic majestic and my last Mystic Crossfire was the same problem.

I've considered allergies but I think if it's an allergic reaction it should appear instantly?
I've heard about some chemistry in the glue that could cause issues.
Should I try a Patagonia wetsuit? According to their website they're using less chemistry.

Do you have any suggestions or experience with this?

I hope some of you guys can help me. I'm desperate to find a solution!

I'd try the Patagonia with Yulex if I thought I was allergic to neoprene. I've heard the front zip models are a pain to get out of however.

You might want to take a look at the Ride Engine wetsuits. It could be the chemical treatment bothering your skin. The jersey cloth on RE's wetsuits does not contain C8, C6 or C4, which are the chemicals used to treat the fabric so it will "quick dry". RE also uses a limestone based neoprene.

I have that exact problem with two different shorty wetsuits. Yet, with my NP 4/3 and my ProMotion 5/3 it isn't a problem.
I'm not sure if it is chemicals used in production of cheaper suits, or just that my shorty lets in more debris from the water that irritates, but yeah... it's annoying as f*ck.

I had an issue with my suit when it was new (hyperflex)- probably something in the lining that caused an itch after awhile on the areas that get some pressure/movement. It felt fine everywhere else though. Try a 1mil top, or a rashguard. The itchyness did get through the thin layer of a rash guard, just less itchy. It seemed to mellow a bit after a bunch of washes and I can ride without the underlayer now without getting itchy, but I've gotten used to the extra layer.

Worth a try; you might try washing it with this stuff:
