Postby C4rl0s » Fri Nov 10, 2017 2:00 am

Helo guys, Im going to the netherlands on January and i am planing to jump to dusseldorf boot trade show in order to buy Kite gear. Any of you have done it? Do they have really interesting outlet prices at brands stands? I just want to realize if it deserves the car trip and acomodation expenses from the netherlands (100km away) .:(

Hey Carlos, i have been to the Boot several times. Nothing there to justify expenses. You can get the same prices, or very close to to it, at local shops.

You could be lucky and find five year old new kites for next to nothing, but...

Windsurfers do seem to find good deals.

Mind you, it's been five years since I have been.

+1 not worth it. Rather get the stuff on sale from a German shop, e.g. Surfpirates.

I go there every year (for sailing) and it's almost never worth it for kiteboarding. Over the last years I got some nice deals on wetsuits, clothing and once a kiteboard, wakeboard and boots. But never kites. I would say it's not even worth the entrance fee if you only want to go there to buy stuff, let alone a trip from the Netherlands.

Hi!

I've been there twice. Once I made a bargain with a wetsuit. But not more.
If you want to there because of the fun of it - go. If in that case you think "If I can make a bargain I will easily spend my money with fun" do so.
But don't go there only because of the hope finding cheap stuff.
And "market" there works like oldschool: in the first days you have a good choice of stuff but the prices are not that good. In the last days you can maybe make a bargain but the choice of stuff wich fits your needs and wishes gets smaller and smaller.
So in short: don't drive there from the Netherlands only for bargaining. Execpt maybe you are in the closest town in NL, in Venlo, wich is only 50 km away.
