wow I see were getting to a very silly level of toipcs these days. nothing wrong with drones in fact thyre an awesome tool that brings a new level of excitement to any sport. The awesome views that you can capture along with the stunning clarity of the video and advanced features makes this tool a must have for anybody interested in video or photography. People that hate drones are probally old paranoid farts who probally also hate things computers, the intenet, cell phones, atm's and such.

Please not another drone intro to a kite flick!!
I feel like I'm watching BBC world every time I see a kite movie these days.
Cant we just get some straight to the water kite action, bangers and bails without watching the first minutes of how lovely these places look. Sure its nice scenery and all that, but ist getting to much now
Whether it a 30 minutes Company movie, or a 1 min clip on Instagram or youtube. There are drones flying over everything, shooting this and that, beaches here and a rock there, some waves crashing...And frankly I get the same excitement from watching Bamboo grow in time-lapse. Its nice and spectacular the first time, but after that its a big yawn...
So can the kite companies and all you aspiring pros out there please capture more kite action, and leave the scenery filming to the tourism ads.
PS this is not trolling, I've just wasted 5 minutes of my precious time watching drone shots over some just ok scenery. So i decided to waste another 5 minutes to write this thread.

He did NOT say he hated drones. In fact, at one point he said they were great for certain things. Just not 2 minute boring intros....

Yeah, but seriously: what has always bugged me is kitesurfing, or windsurfing, or surfing shots that DON'T show the setting - just close-ups of the rider, often from water level. Drones have, for the first time, allowed a more expansive view of the setting. This is especially fascinating with spectacular wave settings. I'd really like to get a better understanding of the setting of Teahupo'o - the formation of the reef that creates that freakily perfect wave. Typically, video is always taken from the channel looking along the wave.
