Please not another drone intro to a kite flick!!
I feel like I'm watching BBC world every time I see a kite movie these days.
Cant we just get some straight to the water kite action, bangers and bails without watching the first minutes of how lovely these places look. Sure its nice scenery and all that, but ist getting to much now
Whether it a 30 minutes Company movie, or a 1 min clip on Instagram or youtube. There are drones flying over everything, shooting this and that, beaches here and a rock there, some waves crashing...And frankly I get the same excitement from watching Bamboo grow in time-lapse. Its nice and spectacular the first time, but after that its a big yawn...
So can the kite companies and all you aspiring pros out there please capture more kite action, and leave the scenery filming to the tourism ads.
PS this is not trolling, I've just wasted 5 minutes of my precious time watching drone shots over some just ok scenery. So i decided to waste another 5 minutes to write this thread.

Funny stuff.
Drone intro is better than the close up of straws in the wind tho. Or some 20yr old wake up and brush their teeth while giving us deep life advice

Exactly!
I actually love those drone scenery shots! Gives a good sense of the overall lay of the land (water) & where the break is (if there is one). I don't like videos that concentrate on close-ups without any sense of the context. Drones allow a view of the action that no other method has managed - following the rider along a wave & also pulling back to see the wider view. Cool!

Agree with you on the straws, or even worse sunrise time-lapse, yawn yawn...
But deep life advise, a come on... Young people telling you to live your life, getting out your comfort zone. Be apart of the elements, and at one with the cosmos... Thats my favorite part

I agree with you, here as long as its the rider and the kitesurfing thats in focus! And especially in the waves drone is a good contribution to the footage
Its the 2-3 minutes of just landscape droning...Awww look how beautiful and desolate this place is...That gets to me, yeah I know first world problems..But still got to have something to complain about.
Think kitemovies would have a lot to learn from skatemovies. Straight to the action no BS

If it is not just pure riding, I do think it is very interesting to hear about what level of preparation. Type of equipment. How they judge risk.
More in this type of video:
https://vimeo.com/152784782
You realize that some of the pro-riders are serious about their training and level of prep.
