Hi everyone. For the last 4 years I have ridden F-one black/white kite pads. They are the only kite pads that I have ever used that do not hurt my feet when I stomp a landing. SO, I just ordered a new 2017 pair (now teal) and they are hard as rocks. I need advice - please send me suggestions of pads that you like to absorb those hard landings.

Yes there absolute Crap ! I cant believe F-one would put that shit on there otherwise - great gear..
I put my old pads from Flea bay on, and soft as again for those 20m landings.

I thought the old fone pad were really comfortable too just flimsy as crap, the binding plate/frame was like 1/16 th of an inch compared to 1/2 inch for every other pad out there. I broke 4 pads lol. haven't tried latest one.
I love my naish apex but they are on the hard side even with the soft foam insert though I run them with hard one but often wear booties. Remember some summer session with hard landing and I bruised the flesh of my heel once after landing a kiteloop lol. Took a few weeks to heal.
I tried the Shinn one which were pretty comfy but havnen't tried that many pad and often wear booties so cna't really help you but,

Never tried a better option than the Ultra’s which, for me, are the most comfortable and secure. The snowboard ratchet thing will become a standard, I believe. You can reach down and adjust as you’re riding which is one of those small things that make it so much more enjoyable out on the water. Shinn also does their own version but i think it’s just a single ratchet. The way the Ultra pads give you support on all sides of your feet (they can really lock you in if you want a firm grip), I don’t think there’s a better option out there. At least I haven’t come across one. For freeriding where you just want to smash chop and do some landgaps, it’s a very nice feeling to have the board literally stuck to your feet.
Your board will need to have 6’5 insert spread if you buy them though. And they’re not cheap either. I use them on my Fusion 3 board and it’s perfect for me. Core’s UnionPro pads use a few things from the Ultra and is about half the price, but there’s no comparison, really.

Ocean Rodeo has new pads - Air Bliss, like stepping onto foamy marshmallows. Good for some of us older guys with sore feet.
